Over the years I have used my passion for art and painting to raise money and awareness for various charities.
My first heart art project was for the The British Heart Foundation and a collaborative initiative saw the birth of the very first community LoveHug. I designed a very large LoveHug to be painted at a community event by anyone who made a donation to the charity. When the canvas was completed, it was then auctioned to raise even more funds and the image was used for merchandising and promotion and was finally auctioned at a charity event.
This event was so inspiring that I have since designed and organised the painting of a further 3 community LoveHug paintings. One was donated to The Heatherwood Hospital Cardiology Department which cheers up the ward immensely another was for The Eve Appeal, a charity which aims to fight women’s cancers and this painting now hangs in the UCLH Clinical Research Facility of the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and the fourth was for a Spanish charity called Acompalia.
Every year I pledge to make a donation payment of £5 for each LoveHug sold during that year and for 2022 I will be supporting and donating to Breast Cancer Research. So when you buy a LoveHug for that special person in your life you are also making a small contribution to a very worthy charity.
